You Can't Take It With You

You Can't Take It With You

Sorry to all the dog lovers for that little bit of dark humor in the bulletin cartoon. You know you couldn’t have made the same cartoon with cats because they wouldn’t have even cared. But anyway, I digress…

The other day, I was thinking about some of the stuff I’ve accumulated over the years. I am a sentimental person, so I tend to hang on to things long after they are useful or relevant. I often find something years later in a box and think to myself, “Why did I ever keep this?”

As humans, we tend to be that way—we hang on to “stuff” far too long. Someone once rightly said they have never seen a U-Haul behind a hearse. When we die, all of our stuff gets passed on to someone else and it usually doesn’t have near the importance to them as it did to us.

So, what’s your relationship with your “stuff?” Is it a take-it-or-leave-it relationship? Or, does it mean a little more to you than it should? You can’t take it with you!
