Suffering for Doing Good?

1 Peter 3:8-17

2+2 always equals 4, right? If I drop something it always falls to the ground, right? If I do something good, I always get rewarded, right?

Unfortunately, some things aren't always a guaranteed outcome. We'd like to think that when we do the right thing, we'll immediately be rewarded, but the longer we live the more we realize the opposite is often more true. Sometimes, it takes a long time to see the fruit of the good we are doing.

So, how do we deal with it? How do we handle suffering, especially when we actually did the right thing?
