The GIFT

Have you ever received a really special gift?  Maybe someone knew just what to get you at Christmas, and you unwrapped it in shock and gratitude as it was exactly what you needed or wanted.  Or, maybe a friend just saw something at the store that made them think of you and picked it up for you.

Have you ever been on the other end of giving a gift?  You found the perfect present for that person, and you couldn’t wait for them to unwrap it.  Maybe you even gave it to them early because you couldn’t wait any longer. You might have been more excited about it than they were.  

I’m sure most of us can relate to being involved in some gift exchange that was really special.  These next few weeks, we’re going to look at some passages from Scripture about giving and gifts, and learn something about what it takes to be a good giver, and what we can learn about receiving the greatest gift anyone could ever give.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
