Show Hospitality to One Another
Some folks make you feel at home. Others make you wish you were.
—Arnold H. Glasow
The above quote made me laugh this week. I’m sure you’ve experienced being a guest of someone else’s and wishing you were anywhere else. Maybe it was the way they acted, or the circumstances of the event itself, but there are some people that just don’t do hospitality that well. For Christians, however, this isn’t an option. There are so many verses in the New Testament alone either explicitly stating or indirectly implying our obligation to be hospitable to others. It is a gift, but it’s not just required of those with the gift! All of us are to show hospitality, as we’ll see this morning. But, why? Why is it so important that we make the effort, even if we’re not blessed with the gift of hosting? And how? Join us this morning as we look at Peter’s words in the letter of I Peter and hear more about hospitality and our responsibility to it as a Christian.
