Hopefully by now the food baby you felt you had in your stomach at the end of Thursday is gone (or maybe you’ve eaten several times since then—hopefully you still don’t feel like a beached whale).  We truly have a lot to be thankful for this year, and we continue to give thanks as we enter the Christmas season and remember Christ and his coming to earth.

This morning, we continue our series in the book of Mark by looking at a statement Jesus made to a bunch of people he didn’t even know: “Follow me.”  As the soon to be disciples stood on the shore with their nets and this stranger walked by giving them such a bold command, what would have been going through their heads?  What caused them to follow someone they just met, or likely didn’t even know? Strange indeed, and yet there must be something there for us to learn as well. I pray God’s word challenges us and encourages us all this morning.  I’m glad you’re here!
